Summary: The project blends print and digital experiences by enhancing classic print posters with Augmented Reality (AR) animations.

Design Challenge: Accurately recreate posters in Illustrator and animate them in After Effects, varying complexity while staying true to the original content.

Problem: Explore the relationship between print and digital experiences by recreating famous print posters from graphic design history and adding Augmented Reality animated extensions.

Solution: Recreate posters in Illustrator, animate in After Effects for dynamism, then integrate into Augmented Reality via Web-AR Studio. This approach brings static designs to life, engaging users in a spatial computing context.

Introduction
Spatial Computing is a term coined by Apple to describe what the company’s new Vision Pro headset does: “seamlessly blend[ing] digital content with the physical world, while allowing users to stay present and connected to others.”

While the product is new, the concepts underlying it are not. One of the concepts integral to spatial computing is Augmented reality.

Augmented reality is said to seamlessly overlay virtual/digital information into natural 3D spaces or onto 3D objects in real-time.

If you’ve ever used your smartphone to project and preview what a piece of furniture might look like in a room, you’ve experienced Augmented Reality.
